FAQs

What is the purpose of the dashboard?

There is a vast amount of data available for the construction industry, from multiple sources and to varying levels of quality and update frequency, which can make keeping-up with and accessing it a challenge. We have sought to collate relevant datasets (that meet our set criteria), summarise each and display outputs in a more visual manner. This allows anyone interested in the construction industry to see key information at a glance.

Who is the data dashboard for?

The data dashboard is for anyone with an interest in the construction and built environment sector. The entire dashboard, and all original data sources are publicly available and free to access.

How can the data dashboard be used?

The dashboard can be used in a variety of ways, for example to understand key issues within the industry; as a starting point for further research; to track progress; to identify areas for improvement; or to help inform decision making around things like investment and policy making. Individuals and organisations will find different uses for the data dependent on their specific requirements and areas of interest.

Where does the data come from?

Data sources used for this dashboard have been selected from well-established, recognised and trusted sources that are regularly updated. Please refer to the Data Summary for more information.

How often is it updated?

Our data dashboard utilises unique technology to check each data source for changes on a daily basis, which, when identified, are instantly captured and reflected in the dashboard itself. This ensures that the information displayed in our data dashboard is always as up-to-date as the source, although the frequency of data being updated at source is dependent on the individual dataset.

Will more data sources be added?

Our ambition is to develop the dashboard further, and include additional, appropriate datasets. Please contact us with your suggestions.
